The Corrections Intern will support Securitas Technology Corporation's security projects within the corrections division, assisting in design, wiring, and commissioning activities for jail and prison system clients. This paid summer internship involves shadowing engineers and project managers, preparing reports, and performing administrative tasks, providing hands-on experience in electronic security systems integration. Candidates should be pursuing an engineering degree focused on electrical, computer, or software disciplines and demonstrate strong communication, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
We’re looking for an incoming Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Intern candidates focused in an Engineering degree program for electrical or computer, or software engineering specializations. Summary:
The Securitas Technology Team is currently seeking a motivated student for an internship that will participate in the organization’s Corrections division in the design, wiring, and commissioning operations with major active clients. This is a paid summer internship for 8 - 10 weeks.
Job Functions:
- Conduct a variety of general administrative tasks as assigned
- Shadow Securitas engineers and project managers supporting correction customer projects for jails and prison system customers
- Prepare reports and other information for departmental use
- Develop executive summaries on major projects or activities as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Current student pursing a degree Engineering focused degree in electrical, computer, or software engineering specializations
- AutoCAD is a plus
- Lives in Indianapolis area and willing to work on site at a Securitas office
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint) is required
- Must be detail-orientated, organized, and able to work independently
- High level of written and oral communication
- Demonstrate strong ability to handle confidential/private information
- Prior internship experience a plus
- Open to occasional travel between customer sites and local office
