An excellent locum opportunity for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist to provide inpatient coverage in a leading healthcare facility in Lufkin, Texas. This role offers a steady workload, supportive staff, and an ongoing need to fill coverage gaps through .

• Inpatient-only Gastroenterology practice
• Coverage needed for specific dates (listed below)
• Required procedures: Endoscopies, Colonoscopies, and ERCP
• Anesthesia support available conscious sedation preferred when possible
• EMR: Paragon (transitioning to EPIC in late 2026)
• Support staff: Experienced endoscopy-trained GI nursing team
• Reason for coverage: Permanent GI provider leaving
• Average callback: 4 hours per week

• Board Certification or Eligibility in Gastroenterology Highly Preferred
• Texas State License Required
• ERCP capability Required

• Clean malpractice and background Highly Preferred
• Availability to cover listed dates Required

• FTE: 1 provider needed
• Rounding: Yes approximately up to 10 patients/day
• Hospital handles all patient admissions
• Emergency credentialing available for clean files ( day timeframe)
• Cases include: Abdominal pain, GI bleed, SBO, food bolus, ulceration, gastritis, and carcinoma diagnosis (no treatment)
