This position is for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide medical and psychiatric care within an outpatient substance use treatment program, focusing on Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) including Methadone. The role involves evaluating patients, prescribing and managing medications, and collaborating with clinical staff to ensure coordinated care. It is a locum contract with immediate start, offering flexible scheduling and the potential for extension in a Long Island, NY outpatient setting.
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an ASAP locum need within an established outpatient substance use treatment program. This is a fast-hire opportunity for a provider who can step in quickly to support medical and psychiatric services, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) with Methadone. All clinical backgrounds are welcome, provided MAT experience requirements are met.
Location: Long Island, NY (on-site)
Schedule: 35 hours/week
- Monday - Friday : 9AM-5PM (Preferred)
- Monday - Wednesday: 9AM-5PM & Thursday 9AM-7PM (4 day work week)
Employment Type: Locum / Contract (Immediate Start)
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform medical and psychiatric evaluations in an outpatient setting
Prescribe, manage, and monitor medications, including MAT services
Provide ongoing medication management for individuals receiving substance use treatment
Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and clinical leadership to ensure continuity of care
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and care coordination
Active and unrestricted New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority
Minimum of 1 year of experience prescribing Medication-Assisted Treatment, including Methadone
NPs or PAs from any clinical background will be considered
