Description:

This position is a key member of Weyerhaeuser’s Southern Lumber Sales team, based in our Hot Springs, Arkansas office. The successful candidate will leverage comprehensive market insight, advanced pricing strategies, and strong analytical abilities to generate sales orders that effectively align customer requirements with available supply.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with both established and prospective lumber customers to fulfill current and future volume requirements across residential, truss, treated, home center, and industrial market segments. You will be responsible for driving sales growth, maintaining and expanding existing accounts, and cultivating new business within these sectors.

You will collaborate closely with a team of sales professionals and contribute to a larger sales organization representing a diverse portfolio of Weyerhaeuser products. This position offers ongoing opportunities to enhance your expertise in customer product requirements, product mix optimization, and technical manufacturing specifications. Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong relationships with a diverse and complex customer base by thoroughly understanding their unique product and service requirements within various market segments. Consistently achieve and deliver on strategic sales goals by leveraging in-depth industry knowledge and a customer-focused approach.

Utilize the computerized sales system efficiently and accurately to manage multiple and complex transactions. Apply data analysis tools to inform and refine sales strategies and tactics and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office to support daily sales activities.

Manage large contracts by incorporating all relevant components such as logistics, base pricing, and product adders. Exhibit strong negotiation skills and a strategic mindset to drive sales growth and successfully close complex deals.

Demonstrate a deep understanding of business operations and mill manufacturing processes, including the specific products each mill produces. Support the development of strategic plans for manufacturing sites and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the regional industry, including competitor product lines and capabilities.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years sales or purchasing experience in lumber or commodity industries, or a related Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years relevant experience.

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and effectively negotiate.

  • Experience in handling complex transactions with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated success in sales program consultation and generating profitable sales.

  • Knowledge of product uses, market trends, transportation, and supply chains.

  • Skilled in MS Office, PowerBI, and SAP.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • Knowledge of market dynamics and transportation.

  • Experience with SAP or order management systems.

What We Offer:
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $88,910 - $133,506 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
