Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract timeframe
• 33-bed ICU with average daily census of 16 patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3 for adults
• Care for trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress patients
• Required to titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Must read, interpret, and document telemetry strips with GE monitor system
• Float to PCU or Med-Surg units as needed with typical ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
• Work with respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilators
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Must pass open book skills exam on Wednesdays during orientation with 90% score
• Use EPIC charting system
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Driver's license required and must live outside 50-mile radius
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove leads to contract termination
• Self-scheduling available for core staff with travelers added in
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

This healthcare facility operates a Level 2 trauma center with a 33-bed intensive care unit providing acute care services. The facility maintains modern equipment including GE monitoring systems and EPIC electronic health records. The ICU is supported by respiratory therapy, healthcare support technicians, and nurse aides based on census needs, ensuring comprehensive patient care for critically ill patients requiring complex medical interventions.
