Outpatient Hematology/Oncology Locum-to-Perm Opportunity Saint Joseph Health System (Indiana)
Hospital in Indiana is seeking a Board-Certified Hematologist/Oncologist to support the launch of a new outpatient service line. This is a full-time locum-to-perm role focused entirely on outpatient care with no inpatient rounding. Providers will work with adult and geriatric populations in a high-volume clinic supported by EPIC EMR and oncology-trained nursing staff.
Coverage Period: March 2026 March 2027
Setting: Outpatient only (no hospital rounding or call)
Patient Volume: 30 outpatient visits per day
Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric
Practice Mix: 50% Hematology / 50% Oncology
Outpatient management of hematology and oncology patients
Perform required procedures including:
VAD/CV catheter management
Bone marrow biopsy
Participate in Tumor Board
Manage bone marrow transplant cases (oversight/coordination)
Order tests, imaging, and blood bank needs
Prescribe and manage chemotherapy (administered by physician or oncology nurse)
EMR: EPIC
Credentialing:
With active IN license: 60 days
Without active IN license: 90 days
Travel reimbursement included: flights, hotel, rental car, and mileage (IRS rate)

Board Certified Hematology/Oncology Required
Active Indiana Medical License Required
BLS Certification Required
Ability to perform bone marrow biopsies and VAD/CV catheter management
