RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work on 36-bed medical surgical unit with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Complete 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week block scheduling requirement
• Float over core staff when needed
• Work with basic equipment including PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps
• Document using Meditech system
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Perform basic patient assessments and provide general care for wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, strokes, and seizures
• Manage patients requiring dialysis or PCA pumps with Heparin as the only drip medication
• Handle post-op procedures including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs
• Conduct bedside shift reports and safety checks every 1-2 hours with focus on communication and responsiveness
• Follow HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions
• Implement fall prevention measures and maintain 100% medication scanning including controlled substances
• Dress code requires navy, blue, white, black, gray, or ceil blue scrubs
• Work with supportive charges and experienced leadership team
• Treated as core staff with same level of accountability and recognition
