Opportunity:

RN - Acute Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend rotation with permanent staff
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for both day and night shifts
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• ACLS preferred
• 2 years of experience required in specialty
• Must live within 75-mile radius of facility
• Care for patients with diabetes, CHF, COPD, GI bleeds, renal failure, dialysis patients, post-surgical overflow, amputations, debridements, wound care, DVTs, ETOH, and psychiatric patients
• Administer medications including Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin
• Work with CPAP equipment and night BiPAP
• Float to all acute care and cardio units as needed
• Primary care nursing model
• Charting system: MEDITECH
• Dress code: Caribbean Blue top and bottom OR White top and Caribbean Blue bottom OR all white
• No artificial or shellac nails allowed - only polished nails permitted
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• Strict attendance policy enforced
• No bags allowed at nurses station - lockers with locks available
• 3-day orientation period
• Must have experience at larger organization with high acuity, high turnover, and fast pace

The facility maintains a 14-bed acute medical surgical unit and utilizes a primary care nursing model.
