We are looking for highly qualified Locum Physicians specializing in General Medicine to provide essential Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments across Arizona. In this role, you will conduct interview-based exams, perform physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, and complete reports efficiently in a collaborative environment. You will not be prescribing medications or providing treatment, focusing instead on vital evaluations that help Veterans receive the benefits they deserve. Whether you are an experienced general practitioner or have background in internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery, this position offers flexibility and purpose.
Required Skills:
- Valid medical license in Arizona
- Experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or related fields
- Strong assessment and interview skills
- Ability to perform physical evaluations such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with compensation and pension exams
- Knowledge of military or veterans healthcare systems
- Certification in specific assessments or related credentials
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO)
- Board certification or equivalent in family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedics
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine or related specialty
- Prior experience working with veterans health is advantageous but not required
Other Requirements:
- Must reside within specified radius for assigned locations (e.g., within 50 miles of Flagstaff or Sierra Vista)
- Ability to work PRN with flexible days, including half-day or full-day shifts
- Willingness to perform exams at designated locations or own office if required
- Training completion and adherence to VES protocols
- No travel reimbursements included; local candidates preferred
Competitive hourly pay rate of $624, offering flexibility with half-day ($800) and full-day ($1600) rates, along with a one-time bonus of $650 upon completion of onboarding and initial exams. Benefits include weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical coverage (W-2), paid sick time, and additional reimbursements where applicable.
