This position is for an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner providing full-time inpatient and outpatient care, including comprehensive patient assessments, diagnostic testing, treatment plans, medication management, and collaboration with physicians. The role requires advanced clinical skills, relevant certification, and the ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team in a locum tenens capacity. The assignment offers competitive hourly pay, no weekend or holiday shifts, and travel benefits for those living over 50 miles from the facility.
Pay: $110.00-120.00 per hour

Details:
- Inpatient and Outpatient coverage
- Full-time coverage needed
- 4 10-hour shifts per week
- No weekends, holidays or call required
- Average 10-12 PPD
- Practice includes 4 EP MDs and 4 APPs
- EMR: EPIC
- Credentialing: 60-90 days
Responsibilities (Generalized):
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and NP specialty
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
- Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
- Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions
- Time management skills to manage a patient workload efficiently
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team
Requirements
Education:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
- Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
Licenses & Certifications:
- Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Washington
- National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners AANP )
- Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Washington
- National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Experience:
- While specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
- Locum tenens APP positions are temporary assignments, often lasting weeks or months, to address staffing shortages in hospitals, surgical centers or other healthcare facilities
- These positions offer competitive pay and flexible schedules, allowing APPs to pursue diverse work environments and control their workload
