American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an adult Emergency Department night shift position requiring a current MA RN license and advanced certifications.
Responsibilities- Work in a 65-bed adult Emergency Department with a separate pediatric pod and Acute Mental Health area
- Patient population includes all adult and pediatric emergencies with approximately 230 visits per day
- Patient ratio is typically 1:4
- Night shift hours are 19:00 to 07:30 with every other weekend required
- Floating to other units is required as needed
- Uses Epic ASAP for EMR documentation
- Duties include assessment, documentation, IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKGs, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, and patient education
- Must demonstrate critical thinking in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency setting
- Includes working in a team-based care environment with pods and specialized zones
- Holiday coverage may be required according to unit needs
- RTO must be communicated at time of application for consideration
- Dress code requires appropriate hospital scrubs
- Permanent residence must be at least 60 miles from the facility for standard travel rate eligibility; local candidates accepted with adjusted rate
- Active unrestricted MA RN license required at time of consideration; Conditional or pending licenses not accepted
- Minimum of 2 years Emergency Department nursing experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all AHA accepted only); NRP preferred
- TNCC certification is strongly preferred
- COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required with no medical or religious exemptions allowed
- Primary source verification of license required and must be updated upon expiration
