Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) administer anesthesia and monitor patients undergoing surgical, obstetric, and other procedures. This role requires board certification, an active nursing license, and experience with various anesthesia techniques in a trauma center setting. CRNAs work closely with physicians and healthcare teams, ensuring patient safety during surgeries across multiple specialties including cardiac, spine, and general surgery.

- Other Details: A full-time CRNA is needed at a Level II Trauma Center in Iowa, with a start date as soon as credentialed. The facility uses a mix of Cerner and paper charting and requires coverage for all ages, though critically ill pediatric patients are transferred out. CRNAs must be team players, comfortable with epidurals, and capable of working fairly independently once vetted by physicians. The case mix includes hearts, spines, general surgery, OB, and occasional head cases. Initial schedule for new locum CRNAs is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM (8-hour shifts only 10-hour shifts not accepted). Additional scheduling includes rotating 24-hour call shifts (e.g., Friday 5 PM Saturday 6:30 AM, Sunday 6:30 AM 6:30 AM), with weekend and night call required. Applicants must hold an active IA or compact state license, NBCRNA certification, BLS and ACLS, be COVID-vaccinated, and have a clean license for quick credentialing.
