Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical/Telemetry position in an Observation Unit requiring a WV or compact RN license and BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Observation Unit within a hospital setting
• Medical Surgical and Telemetry patient population with a 1:5 to 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Shift is 19:00-07:30 on a 36/48 hour per week rotating schedule
• Uses Meditech EMR system
• No block scheduling is available
• Responsible for caring for Medical Surgical and Telemetry patients in the Observation Unit
• Orientation sessions are offered bi-weekly
• Travel pairs are not allowed except under special unit needs
• Holiday and weekend shifts may be required depending on the facility’s rotation
• First-time travelers are accepted

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of current experience in Medical Surgical, Telemetry, PCU, or Stepdown settings
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• Experience with Meditech EMR is required
