An Internal Medicine Physician providing non-treatment medical disability examinations and evaluations primarily for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Responsibilities include conducting interview-based assessments, limited physical exams, and reviewing medical records to support compensation and pension claims. This role offers PRN flexible hours without on-call duties, focusing on musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, diabetes, and neurological condition evaluations.
Location: A popular lake destination located in the western part of Arizona, near the border with California. - PRN as needed basis
- Willing to accept these specialties:
- family medicine,
- internal medicine
- orthopedic surgery,
- anyone with a background in general medicine, or experience with compensation and pension.
- Two (2) options for coverage - Travel and perform exams at VES leased facility and/or schedule Veterans within your own practice
- Option to work days(4-hours) and/or full days(8-hours)
- No call!
- One-Time non-treatment C&P exams + separation health assessments
- Exams are primarily interview-based with some physical assessment: range of motion testing, muscle strength testing.
- No prescribing, no treatment
- Quick credentialing & onboarding
- Use of Goniometer required
- Familiar with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardio required
- Proficient in METs testing, evaluating and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
- Own personal laptop (NO MACs)
- Training shall be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)
- Evaluations to be completed in the providers portal
- Record review is required in most cases
- Follow up administrative work will be required on a regular basis (addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics)
