American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in a Magnet and Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring a MO or compact RN license and step-down experience.
Responsibilities- Position is in a telemetry/step-down unit within a short term acute care hospital
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-07:30), with every other weekend required
- Assigned patient ratio is 1:4-5
- Floating within scope is required to meet hospital needs
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR system is used and prior experience is required
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Duties include providing nursing care and monitoring for patients requiring telemetry and step-down level care
- This Magnet and teaching hospital is a Level I Trauma Center with a large interdisciplinary team
- Orientation includes mandatory completion of modules, paid up to 16 hours
- Night shift staff may park in employee lots at no charge; day/night rotation requires a paid parking pass
- Candidates are expected to bring their license plate number on the first day for parking arrangements
- Travelers may remain for up to 18 months before a 3-month break is required
- Active MO or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years recent telemetry or step-down experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required
- Experience with EKG and managing cardiac drips is necessary
- Epic charting experience is required
- Must reside outside of a 75-mile radius from the hospital
- Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract and none during orientation
