The Surgical Technologist supports surgical teams by preparing operating rooms, selecting and sterilizing instruments, and assisting during procedures under the supervision of registered nurses and surgeons. Candidates must be certified by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting and have completed an accredited surgical technology program. This role emphasizes providing safe, effective care in a hospital setting focused on patient well-being and community health.

Position Summary:
The Operating Room Surgical Technologists work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse circulator to facilitate safe and effective care. Functions in a professional manner on a wide variety of surgical procedures. Selects and prepares the appropriate supplies and equipment for the surgical cases. Scrubs on surgical cases, operates surgical equipment, participates in surgery by organizing the instrumentation, participating in surgical counts, and performs related activities under the direction of the Registered nurse circulator and surgeon.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: :
Required: Graduate of an Accredited School of Surgical Technology
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: :
One year experience working as a certified surgical technologist preferred.
PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), BLS required
