Seeking a board-certified or board-eligible neurologist for locum tenens coverage in Illinois at a Level 1 trauma center with a teaching facility. The role involves clinical patient care, interpretation of EEGs including cEEG and LTEEG, supporting an epilepsy surgery program, and collaborating with neurology residents and support staff. Experience with advanced epilepsy management techniques and perioperative SEEG analysis is preferred, with shifts scheduled Monday to Friday.
Coverage Needed November 1, 2023 - Ongoing Start as soon as credentialed Schedule Monday-Friday 8a-5p Clinical Details 20 shifts/month Typical Day: Provider will see 8-12 patients a day, review EMUs and collaborate with Neurological support team Teaching facility with 16 Neurology Residents Level 1 trauma center 5 bed EMU Requirements Ideally able to read cEEGs Required to readLTEEGs, staff the EMU and support the functional neurosurgery program(e.g. brain mapping) and meet residency training requirement Experience or willingness to learn the indications and management of VNS, RNS and DBS for epilepsy would be ideal Experience with perioperative stero-electroencephalogram(SEEG) analysis is ideal Active IL License Board Status: Board Certified, Board Eligible Required Certifications: ABCN, Fellowship trained Minimum Years Experience (if applicable): 0-1 Support Staff 3 APPs and neurological support team are in place to support for epilepsy surgery evaluations EMR Epic
