Department: Oncology Acute | RN
- # Beds: 19 beds - all private.
- Nurse: Patient Ratios: Staffing is based on unit census. 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights, can vary to 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights. We also staff 1:1 for specific medications/therapies.
- Required certifications: BLS; ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: All types of Cancer (most seen are Lymphoma and Leukemia), Hematology, and medical patients. We also take care of radiation oncology patients as well as Gyn/Onc.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Experience with IV chemotherapy & Immunotherapy regimens and administration – hanging / handling precautions (PPE) for chemotherapy, along with monitoring for side effects of medication.
