American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist for an inpatient rehab unit with a census of 12-16 patients per day and requires a LA OT license, BLS, and NBCOT certification.
Responsibilities- Inpatient rehabilitation unit in an acute care academic medical center
- Average daily census of 12-16 patients
- Day shift schedule, five 8-hour shifts per week from 8:00 to 16:00
- Staffing ratio is 1:1
- Primary diagnoses include multi-trauma, CVA/stroke, neurological conditions, and post-op orthopedic surgeries
- May be required to join an emergency team and remain at the facility during hurricane events or be part of a relief team
- Basic orthotic and splinting skills are a plus but not required
- No prosthetic or additional modality skills required
- Internal policies require all requested time off to be discussed during the interview
- Facility does not accept local travelers
- Unit will provide support and orientation for first-time travelers
- Active LA Occupational Therapist license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification (AHA required)
- NBCOT certification required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant OT experience
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Must live at least 65 miles from the facility
