The Speech Language Pathologist provides evaluation, treatment, and supervision of communication, cognition, and swallowing services for inpatient and outpatient populations, including pediatric and adolescent patients. They develop individualized care plans based on physician referrals and collaborate within multidisciplinary care teams to maximize patient outcomes. This role requires a master’s degree, state licensure, and compliance with professional and organizational standards in a hospital setting.
Description
The speech-language pathologist (SLP) delivers and supervises others in the delivery of services in the areas of communication, cognition and swallowing. Upon physician referral the speech-language pathologist will perform evaluations and develop individual plans of care to maximize functional outcomes, implementing the plans of care, reassessing treatment results, and actively participating in discharge planning. Services are delivered within the framework of a team approach, including all disciplines, the patient and their significant others. Provision of services for pediatric adolescents as well as for both inpatients and outpatients may by required. These services are delivered in compliance with Swedish Medical Center standards, national and professional standards, state practice acts, and current accepted state of the art practice.

Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Speech/language pathology from an accredited program
- Washington Speech Language Pathologist License upon hire
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Related experience.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
