PRN - Medical Technologist - Microbiology

Flexible PRN role with Magnet-designated academic hospital and Level I Trauma services. Medical Technologist – Microbiology, PRN shifts 6:00–14:30; must work minimum 2 Sundays/month. Location: Methodist Dallas Medical Center (Dallas, TX). Employment: PRN/Per Diem at a 595-bed acute care teaching hospital. • Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related (or verified equivalency) • MT certification/registry or eligible (ASCP/AMT) kept current • Prefer ≥2 years clinical microbiology experience reading/reporting cultures (blood, urine, sterile fluids, wounds, respiratory, stool) • Must be able to work required Sunday schedule • For international grads: credential equivalency statement

6am-2:30pm

Days Of Week :

Minimum 2 Sundays per month.

In this highly technical, fast-paced, and challenging position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our patients by providing timely and accurate lab results.

Your Job Requirements:
 

• Candidate must be available a minimum of 2 Sundays per month to work reading culture plates from 06:00-14:30.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university of Medical Technology or related area of specialty

• Highly prefer minimum 2 years working in a clinical microbiology laboratory reading and reporting cultures from the following sites (this list is not exhaustive ): blood, urine, other sterile body fluids, wounds, tissues, other non-sterile body sites, stool, upper respiratory, lower respiratory, other respiratory, any other source or site not listed here.
• Or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
• Or for individuals educated outside the United States, a translation of that education (equivalency statement obtained from a business dedicated to this service) that shows equivalence to above requirements.
• Certification/registration or certification/registry eligible as a Medical Technologist is required
• ASCP certifications received after January 2004 and AMT certifications received after January 2006 must be kept current through continuing education as required by the specific associations
• Certified MT work experience
