This role serves as the designated Certified Radiation Expert and is responsible for ensuring precision, safety, and quality in all aspects of radiation therapy.
- Full-time schedule: Monday ÄìFriday, 8:00 AM Äì4:30 PM
- On-site coverage 3 days/week + 2 days remote (40 hours)
- Part-time physicist provides on-site support on remote days
- Includes coverage for vacation and sick time
- No call and no weekends Position Responsibilities
- Maintain and oversee the Radiation Oncology QA and Safety Program
- Implement, manage, and maintain all medical physics QA equipment and preventive maintenance
- Coordinate daily clinical physics coverage and provide emergency consultation when needed
- Ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal standards
- Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, and Therapists for safe, effective treatment planning
- Administer and oversee physics-related software, including TPS, MU calculation, and QA systems
- Perform daily, monthly, and annual QA on linear accelerators, CT simulators, and treatment planning systems
- Serve as primary contact for equipment issues, testing, downtime, and maintenance
- Oversee dosimetry operations, including IMRT and advanced planning reviews; perform dosimetry duties when needed
- Be present for all HyperArc, SBRT, SRS, SRT, and other high-dose procedures
- Commission and maintain HyperArc and stereotactic planning systems and manage related QA equipment
- Participate in weekly chart rounds and maintain accurate documentation
