Emergency Medicine Physician, permanent full-time (1.0 FTE ~1500–1700 hrs/yr). 12-hr shifts (6a-6p/6p-6a or 7a-7p/7p-7a), 9–15 shifts/month, hospitals with ED volumes 10k–23k (combined >100k). Location: Fort Wayne, Northeast Indiana. EMR: EPIC. In-house X-ray/CT; ultrasound on-call; APP support 12p–8p. - Current board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine - Active Indiana medical license (or ability to obtain) - Experience in ED settings with similar patient volumes - BLS/ACLS; PALS/ATLS preferred - Ability to work 12-hr shifts and participate in scheduled rotation

Role Highlights Full-time position with 1.0 FTE, equating to approximately 1500-1700 hours annually. Serve hospitals with patient visits ranging from 10,000 to 23,000 annually per emergency department, totaling over 100,000 combined visits. 12-hour shift options (6a-6p/6p-6a or 7a-7p/7p-7a), with flexible scheduling of 9-15 shifts per month based on personal preference. Individualized schedules are created with input from physicians based on availability and needs, posted a year in advance. Collaborate with a dedicated team offering 24-hour hospitalist coverage and real-time radiology reading for all studies. In-house X-ray and CT services with ultrasound available on call at night. Utilize EPIC Electronic Medical Records for efficient patient management. Average of 1.7 patients per hour, supported by Advanced Practice Providers from 12p-8p at most locations. Responsibilities Deliver specialized medical treatment tailored to patient needs in emergency settings. Manage a diverse patient population with both acute and non-acute conditions, including trauma, infections, and cardiovascular events. Conduct assessments, perform diagnostic procedures, and administer treatments to stabilize or resuscitate patients. Coordinate referrals to appropriate medical departments for continued care.
