Opportunity:
Registered Nurse - PCU
Job Details:
• Work alternating day and night shifts with block scheduling
• Maintain 1:3 patient ratios during days, nights, and weekends
• Provide care for adult and geriatric patients
• May float to PCU assignment in the ICU when needed
• Work every other weekend for weekend coverage
• Care for patients with diagnoses including CKD, ESRD, DMII, CHF, COPD, GIB, and post-op conditions
• Manage long-term ventilators and tracheostomies
• Use Pyxis medication system and Cerner documentation system
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, CPI
• Must wear navy blue scrubs
• Trauma Level II experience required
• 2 years of experience required (may consider less based on experience)
• First-time travelers accepted
• Skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Must maintain Alaska license prior to starting

This healthcare facility is a comprehensive medical center serving Alaska Native populations with specialized services including a Progressive Care Unit. The facility operates as a Trauma Level II center with 8 beds and 6 rooms in the PCU, maintaining a daily census of 8 patients. The organization provides extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary support.
