The Respiratory Therapist PRN provides comprehensive respiratory care to patients of all ages, from neonatal to geriatric, in accordance with physician instructions and health facility protocols. The role requires maintaining certifications such as Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and Basic Life Support (BLS). This position focuses on delivering efficient and compassionate respiratory treatments within a hospital or clinical setting.
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides full range of respiratory care services to patients of University Health. Provides care to any age group from neonatal to geriatric as evidenced by the skill/competency check-offs. Ensures the prompt and proficient provisions of respiratory-related duties in accordance with physician directives. Complies with departmental and University Health's policies and procedures and maintains good public and working relations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree, or higher, with a current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care and active Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with the Texas State Board of Health is required. Graduate Therapist must obtain their RRT within 90 days of employment. Current BLS certification is mandatory.
