Exciting opportunity for a Mainframe Developer to drive impactful solutions and modernize systems in Salt Lake City, UT. Join a dynamic team focused on solving complex business challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to design scalable, effective solutions.
  • Refine technical requirements and suggest innovative technical approaches.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure compliance with secure coding standards.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation to provide clear guidelines.
  • Support application maintenance, stability, and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Coordinate with offshore teams to ensure seamless development and operations.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers within the team.
  • Manage application releases and address user-reported concerns effectively.

Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in mainframe application maintenance and support.
  • Proficient in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Assembler and EZtrieve tools.
  • Experience with Endevor or other source control management tools.
  • Background in consulting or enterprise environments.
