Registered Nurse - Medical Psych Unit
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Shift: 3x11.5, 7 AM - 7:30 PM. Must work every other weekend and holidays.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards. The RN ensures safety in practice and integrates principles of evidence-based practice through self-awareness and continuous knowledge advancement.
Responsibilities
- Assure the safety and well-being of patients.
- Report identified safety issues and medical errors promptly.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to appropriate team members.
- Collaborate with other health care providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Utilize the nursing process to create individualized care plans.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
- Must have experience in Medical-Surgical nursing.
- New York RN License required.
- BLS and CPI certifications required.
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records is necessary.
