Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
LocationThis position is located in a facility within a 50-mile radius requirement.
Assignment DurationThis is a 13-week contract position.
ScheduleShift: 12-hour nights (7 PM - 7 AM), with weekends as scheduled.
Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse on the Medical Surgical unit will provide care to patients with various diagnoses, including pneumonia, UTI, altered mental status, gastrointestinal bleed, alcohol withdrawal, and falls/weakness. The nurse will work in a team environment and be responsible for maintaining high standards of patient care.
Responsibilities- Provide patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions and report any changes.
- Titrate medication drips as required, with exceptions for cardiac drips.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Perform duties including vitals, blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and patient hygiene tasks.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required; first-time travelers are accepted.
- Current Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
