This locum tenens position seeks a board-certified or eligible orthopedic physician to conduct non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments primarily for veterans in various Virginia locations. The role involves performing standardized evaluations of respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions without prescribing treatment, and requires timely submission of Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires. Candidates must be licensed in Virginia, willing to obtain DMA certification, and able to work within 50 miles of the assigned sites on an as-needed, per diem basis.

Tazewell, VA - per diem office available - Must be within 50 miles.Coverage NeededASAP - OngoingSeeking General Medicine Providers to work with Veterans performing Compensation & Pension exams + Separation Health Assessments across the country. Block-time availability is preferred but willing to accept providers with sporadic availability - will be on an as-needed basis.ScheduleDay Shifts. Full day (5 hours or Longer) or Half Days (4 hours or less)As-Needed BasisNot a set schedule. Some providers work 9am " 5pm, 12pm " 4pm, 8am " 5pm, etc Clinical DetailsOne-Time non-treatment C&P exams + separation health assessmentsTravel to facility to complete exam or perform exam within own practice - within 50 miles All patients are VeteransNo prescribing, no treatmentDuties: Proficient in METs testing, evaluating, and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions, DBQsTraining shall be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)Reporting/DBQs must be submitted within 48 hours upon exam completion - no narrative report.
