Summary
We are seeking Emergency Medicine BC/BE Physicians to join our dedicated team at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center located in Houston, TX. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality emergency care and ensuring patient safety, aligning with our mission to provide exceptional medical services.
About the Facility:
DeBakey is one of the largest VA’s in the US serving the SE region of Texas. No pediatrics or trauma.
- 473 Bed, Community Hospital
- ED Beds: 16 main, 8 hallway, 6 fast track
- 9 Critical Care beds, 9 MICU, and 16 SICU beds
- 24,000 Annual Visits
- EMR: CPRS
- 12 hour shifts
- Coverage is nights, weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients in critical situations.
- Perform necessary procedures and interventions to stabilize patients.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately.
- Manage trauma cases and provide immediate treatment as required.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards.
- Engage with patients and their families to provide compassionate care.
Qualifications
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
- Valid, clean and unrestricted medical license to practice in any US state.
- DEA
- BLS, ACLS
- US Resident or permanent resident
- Proficiency in emergency procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) CPRS systems is preferred.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
