Join a multidisciplinary team making a difference in correctional mental health. Our team is seeking a licensed Psychiatrist to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and medication management services within a correctional facility. This role includes collaboration with mental health professionals, participation in treatment planning, and supporting crisis intervention.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and medication management for inmate patients.Collaborate with medical, psychiatric, and social work staff to develop and monitor treatment plans.Conduct forensic evaluations and participate in court hearings as needed.Maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation in EMRs.Support crisis response and 24-hour mental health consultation as needed.Participate in ongoing quality improvement and staff meetings.Ensure compliance with NCCHC, ACA, APA, and state regulatory standards.QualificationsMD or DO from an accredited medical school.Completion of a U.S.-based psychiatry residency.Active, unrestricted license to practice psychiatry in New Jersey.DEA and CDS certification.CPR certification required.Experience in inpatient, outpatient, or correctional settings preferred.Skills & CompetenciesStrong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.Effective communicator with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.Ability to build trust with diverse populations and maintain professional boundaries.
Work Environment & Physical DemandsMust pass all health and security screenings.May require on-call availability, weekend, or holiday shifts.Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs and perform job functions requiring prolonged sitting, standing, or walking.
