Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical/Telemetry assignment requiring a WV or compact RN license and strong med/surg-telemetry skills.
Responsibilities
- Work on the Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit (3rd floor) in a hospital setting
- Care for a range of medical-surgical and telemetry patients
- Typical patient ratios are 1:5 to 1:6, with fluctuation based on census
- Requires use of the Meditech EMR system
- Night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Bi-weekly orientation provided
- Work schedule follows a 36/48 hour rotation per two-week pay period
- No block scheduling available
- Care for both medical-surgical and telemetry patients with variable acuity
- Holiday coverage may be required depending on hospital needs
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Travel pairs are not permitted unless otherwise specified by unit needs
- Bi-weekly orientation ensures incoming travelers are integrated smoothly
Requirements
- Active WV or compact RN license required for consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent med/surg and telemetry nursing experience
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
