American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) position requiring open shift availability and strong ICU skills.
Responsibilities- Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in a hospital setting
- Care for a diverse PICU population including respiratory, sepsis, and neuro patients
- Must float to other ICUs and floors as needed, including between campuses
- Open availability for day and night 12-hour shifts; night/weekend shifts are preferred
- Every other weekend coverage required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Utilizes Epic EMR for documentation
- Experience with ventilator management, titration of pressors, and management of central and arterial lines required
- Responsible for complete patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the PICU
- Expected to coordinate and delegate care within an interdisciplinary team
- Physical demands include lifting, carrying, frequent standing, and navigating busy environments
- Must be able to transport patients with ventilators and handle heavy equipment
- Basic understanding of congenital heart disease is beneficial
- Candidates with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills preferred
- Permanent staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year to be eligible
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this assignment

- Active UT or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) certifications required and must not expire prior to start
- ASN or Nursing diploma required; BSN preferred
- A minimum of 3-5 years recent PICU experience required
- At least 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Ability to manage ventilator-dependent patients and use IV pumps
- Experience titrating medications, including pressors, and working with central and arterial lines is required
- Must be comfortable floating to any ICU or floor as necessary
- Epic EMR experience required
