This position is for a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) in the Float Pool at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, providing care across multiple acute care units including Med Surg, ICU, and ED. MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital Float Pool Summary
Float to a variety of core acute care units (Med Surg, Med Surg Tele, IMC, ICU and ED Boarders). Generally, we hire people to two tracts (Med Surg and Critical Care).
Pay Summary
- Base Pay based on working experience as a nurse
- Night differential (X 12 hours)
- Float Pool Differential (X 12 hours)
- Weekend Differential (X 12 hours)
- Charge/Preceptor Pay (when working these shifts)
Available Roles:
Full-Time Nights: 3x12-hour night shifts + every 3rd weekend
Key Responsibilities
As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team
Qualifications
- ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- 2+ years of RN experience required; at least 2+ years of acute care RN experience strongly preferred.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross) within 90 days after starting; ACLS and NIHSS preferred.
