Opportunity:
RN - Stepdown Inpatient
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend nights schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday
• Every other weekend or 2 weekends per 4-week schedule requirement
• Holiday work required as part of permanent staff holiday schedule
• Patient ratios: 1:6 for floor patients, 1:3 for stepdown patients
• Floating to like units (floor/stepdown) required
• Royal blue scrubs required
• BLS certification required
• Must have experience with complex wound care, drains, devices, and traumatic injuries
• Experience required with chest tubes, respiratory support, traumatic brain injuries, and complex spinal cord injuries
• Must be able to read and validate cardiac strips as monitor techs assist with monitoring
• Work with titratable drips including heparin, PCAs on floor level and insulin, cardizem on stepdown level
• EPIC charting system used
• BSN not required
• 2 shifts cancellation allowance per 13-week contract
• Care for multi-trauma, TBI, fractures, general surgery, and bariatric surgery patients
• Work collaboratively with care management, surgical and medical services, and rehabilitation services

The facility provides high-impact, fast-paced nursing environments that allow nurses to practice at the top of their scope and abilities. The organization maintains both stepdown and floor level care, offering nurses experience with two different levels of patient care complexity. The facility is equipped with respiratory therapy services available 24/7 and maintains budgeted free charge nurses around the clock with house supervisors available for support.
