Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 3x12 schedule with every other weekend coverage required
• Must maintain 5:1 patient ratio during days, nights, and weekends
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must successfully pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Float required within skillset
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Work with large orthopedic program including total joints, colorectal surgeries, vascular procedures, and bariatric surgery
• Care for patients with diabetes, congestive heart failure, infection, sepsis, COPD, general surgery cases, sickle cell crisis, GI bleed, and diverticulitis
• Work with specialized equipment including patient lifts, PCA pumps, chest tubes, telemetry monitoring, and capnography
• Required skills include telemetry monitoring, IV management, wound care, central line care, chest tube management, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Must be comfortable with blood product administration, heparin protocols, tracheostomy care, and surgical drain management
• Care for patients of all age groups though pediatric care not expected for travelers
• 34 rooms with 44 beds and daily census of 32 patients
• Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
