Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift
Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. This role includes supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The RN embraces the core values of the organization and focuses on the safety of patients and employees.
Responsibilities- Performs nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develops individualized care plans.
- Identifies teaching needs and goals in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Documents all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
- Participates in the patient rehabilitation program and provides direct patient care with a focus on education.
- Initiates discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
- Communicates pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to support continuity of care.
- Provides direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
- Ensures personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Contributes to a positive work environment through team-building activities.
- Maintains communication regarding service needs with management and senior nursing staff.
- Assumes charge responsibility as requested after the orientation period.
- Actively pursues professional development through continuing education and self-study.
- Prioritizes tasks and plans effectively to meet patient needs.
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
This position operates on a Day Shift basis following a 3x12.0 schedule.
