American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position in Vermont requiring both scrub and circulate experience and on-call availability.
Responsibilities- Small community hospital with 2 operating rooms and a procedure room
- Primary patient population is adults and geriatrics (ages 16 and older)
- Service lines include general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, podiatry, pain, and endoscopy procedures
- Majority of procedures are outpatient with some limited inpatient cases
- Four 8-hour day shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Weekend call required one weekend per month with a one-hour call-back response time
- Two weekday call shifts per week with a one-hour call-back time
- Cerner EMR is used and experience is required
- Hospital-provided scrubs are required for the dress code
- Position requires providing nursing care in both circulating and scrubbing capacities for a variety of surgical procedures
- Orientation is 8 hours and non-billable
- Compliance with hospital attendance policy is mandatory; three call-offs may result in contract termination
- All requested time off must be submitted and approved before assignment begins, with a maximum of five days allowed
- Local travelers residing within 50 miles are not eligible for this assignment
- Holiday and overtime coverage expected according to facility needs
- First-time travelers may be considered if requirements are met
- Active VT or compact RN license required or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2–5 years of recent operating room nursing experience
- Proven experience in both scrubbing and circulating roles
- Must have experience working in a smaller OR facility
- Phase I/PACU experience required
- Multiple surgical service line experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Travel nursing experience highly preferred
- BSN degree preferred
- Must have a personal vehicle due to lack of public transportation
