Responsibilities also include supervising the on-site laboratory, infection control, and working closely with Nurse Practitioners and medical leadership.
Physician - Primary Care opening in Louisiana Located in Lafayette, LAFull-time, permanent positionResponsibilities: - Provide quality medical services to all patients in accordance with appropriate standards of medical care for the specialty - Function as a physician member of the healthcare team at the facility - Maintain patient confidentiality and rights - Communicate effectively with patients to meet their expectations - Conduct patient examinations to determine disease presence and establish preventive health practices - Maintain clinical tracking data for continuity of care - Assist the Medical Director in planning, managing, and evaluating healthcare delivery - Provide continuous care including obtaining hospital privileges and emergency room coverage - Actively participate in local, state, and national medical associations/societies - Participate in quality assurance patient review committee - Record patient information using POMR system - Collect appropriate data for clinical decision-making - Develop and implement individual work plans - Participate in infection control program - Assist in affiliated departments/centers as needed - Serve as laboratory supervisor of the on-site clinic laboratory - Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners in the same departmentQualifications: - Fully licensed to practice in the State of Louisiana with valid DEA license - Board eligible/Board certified in a primary care specialty - Proficiency in Centricity/EMR for creating accurate, complete medical records
