RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1 on 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit
• Required to wear navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
• Tech support available on day and night shifts with unit secretary coverage from 7a-7p
• Work with equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Contract labor is first to float based on rotation when multiple contract/locum staff are scheduled
• Provide attentive and compassionate care with bedside shift reports and patient/family involvement in care planning
• Must have Med/Surg experience with ability to prioritize care and multitask
• Perform basic wound care and maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Must be able to start IVs
• Active RN license and BLS certification required
