Job DescriptionThe MedSurg/Telemetry RN is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical and telemetry unit. This position involves monitoring and managing patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, post-device care, and arrhythmias.
Responsibilities- Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret dysrhythmias.
- Manage care and treatment plans for assigned patients, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices.
- Administer IV therapy and perform peripheral line care.
- Provide respiratory support, including the use of nasal cannulas and face masks.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in rapid response and code team interventions as needed.
- Adhere to isolation precautions and hospital protocols.
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in MedSurg/Telemetry.
- Current NY RN License (in hand – no exceptions).
- ACLS and BLS certifications required.
- Experience with EPIC charting system is a must.
- Ability to float to other units as required.
