The Automotive Test Technician is responsible for managing instrumentation to collect, process, and analyze data on vehicles and their components. They work closely with engineers to prepare test plans and set up data acquisition systems, including calibration and placement of transducers. This role involves hands-on operation of testing equipment, data processing software, and generating detailed test reports.
Management of the instrumentation required to collect data on vehicles, sub systems and components. Ensuring the highest quality data is recorded and processed to efficiently analyze data needed for all projects. Reviewing test plans with engineers; understand what equipment is needed to acquire the data under the specified load cases Know what data acquisition system to use, which transducers, and where to place them on the vehicle or sub-system. Use hands-on experience with data acquisition and data processing software. Will be responsible for instrumentation and calibration of transducers and data acquisition system for the given application. The Automotive Test Technician should be self-sufficient to prepare the test setup, conduct testing, and acquire the data with or without the engineer. The Automotive Test Technician will save the data, process it, and analyze it, and create reports.
