The Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner provides physical exams, diagnostic testing, and treatment for urgent, emergent, and non-urgent medical conditions in a clinic setting. They collaborate closely with supervising physicians to diagnose and manage patient care, including prescribing medications and administering specialized treatments. This role requires advanced nursing or physician assistant licensure and board certification, with new graduates accepted for employment in Abilene, TX.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Perform physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent and non-urgent presentations.
• Select, order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests including X-rays as appropriate in collaboration with supervising physician.
• Analyse reports and findings of tests to diagnose patients in collaboration with supervising physician as appropriate.
• Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness and injury in collaboration with supervising physician.
• Refers patient to PCP or specialist as appropriate.
• Performs DOT physicals.
Qualification/Experience:
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) Program
• Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) Program
• Previous related experience in the above settings during employment and clinical rotations
License/Certifications:
• New Grads are Accepted
• Active APNP/PA License in the State of Texas
• Active board certification as an NP in Family/Active board certification as a PA
• Active DEA license
• CPR certification
