Title: CVOR Surgical Technologist
Location: Anchorage, AK
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift – 4x10 hours (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Job ResponsibilitiesScrub and assist in cardiovascular and vascular surgical procedures within the CVOR
Prepare, maintain, and ensure sterility of surgical instruments and equipment
Assist surgeons during complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures
Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to universal protocol/time-out procedures
Perform specimen handling, labeling, and equipment documentation
Ensure compliance with safety standards including radiation, laser, sharps, and isolation precautions
Participate in on-call coverage as required
Support multidisciplinary surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Minimum 1 year of CVOR or surgical technologist experience
BLS certification
Trauma Level II experience (required)
Proficiency in cardiovascular and vascular surgical procedures, including:
CABG, EVAR/TEVAR, angioplasty/stenting, carotid endarterectomy
Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, femoral-popliteal bypass, TAVR, VAD
Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, sterilization, and instrument processing
Ability to work in a high-acuity CVOR environment
Willingness to take call as required
Epic charting experience
NBSTSA or NCCT certification
Teaching hospital experience
Community hospital experience
Trauma Level I experience
Pediatric cardiovascular surgery exposure
Robotic cardiothoracic surgery experience
Experience in General OR and Pediatric CVOR settings
