American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Illinois requiring ACLS, BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certifications.
Responsibilities- Position is in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit with 18 beds
- Night shift available with 3x12 or 4x12 hour options (18:00-06:30)
- Floating may be required to pediatrics as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- No weekend shifts required
- Patient population includes antepartum, high risk pregnancies, deliveries, and mother/baby care
- Cerner EMR system is utilized
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for Labor & Delivery, antepartum, postpartum, and newborn patients
- Scrubs are provided for this role
- Level I trauma center and Magnet facility
- Must work at least 2 of 3 major holidays
- Parking permit provided at no cost
- Block scheduling requests can be discussed with management
- Floating to affiliated hospitals and units may be required
- First-time travelers and local candidates are welcome to apply
- RTO should not exceed 5 days without prior approval
- Previous Memorial perm or PRN employees must be away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Active IL RN license required or proof of pending application
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- Certifications needed: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring
- Experience with antepartum care, high risk antepartum, Level I Nursery, and LDRP required
- Proficiency in labor management, delivery support, C-section circulation, and recovery
- Skill in IV therapy, blood product administration, and infusion pump usage
- Ability to perform newborn care, including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and metabolic screens
- Must have experience with Cerner EMR (preferred)
- Fluency in pain management techniques, including epidural anesthesia
- Competency in postpartum care procedures including care after vaginal and C-section delivery
