Job DescriptionThe Inpatient Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) will provide specialized nursing care for patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence issues. This role requires an experienced RN with a focus on wound care and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence issues.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs.
- Perform wound care procedures including dressing changes, debridement, and infection control.
- Educate patients and families regarding ostomy care and wound management.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with healthcare team members.
- Document patient progress and outcomes in the electronic health record.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or compact state.
- Wound Care Certification (WCC) required.
- BLS certification required.
- Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Certification (WOCN) preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience in wound care.
