Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med Surg RN with ICU and ER experience for a variable shift position in Michigan requiring an active MI RN license and ACLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work on a 25-bed Med Surg unit in a hospital environment
- Typical patient population includes geriatric patients with CHF, COPD, and diabetes
- Patient ratios average 1:4-1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night
- Variable day and night 12-hour shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a)
- Required to work every other weekend and holiday
- Float to ER and ICU to assist as needed
- May be placed on call for low census with minimum 2-hour callback
- Charting is done in Epic
- General nursing duties focused on acute care of adult and geriatric patients
- May be low-censused and placed on call; call back pay applies per policy
- Travelers are eligible for up to 36 hours of low census unbillable hours per contract
- Required to wear any colored scrubs
- Masking required for those declining flu or COVID vaccination, per Aspirus policy
Requirements
- Current, active MI RN license required
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
- Minimum 2 years recent Med Surg nursing experience
- ICU and ER experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of facility
