An experienced Optometrist is needed for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in Wisconsin, working four 10-hour shifts per week. The role involves examining patients' eyes, diagnosing disorders, prescribing treatments and corrective lenses, and providing patient education. Preference is given to candidates with at least three years of clinical experience and prior work in IHS or FQHC settings.
We are seeking an experienced Optometrist for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in Wisconsin, starting Feb 1, 2026. This opportunity offers a 4x10s schedule with shifts from 8:00am to 6:00pm. Candidates with IHS or FQHC experience are preferred, and the ideal provider will have at least three years of clinical experience. Job Details Location: Wisconsin Start Date: Feb 1, 2026 LOA: 120 days Provider Type Needed: Optometrist Schedule: 4x10s, 8:00am-6:00pm Responsibilities and Duties Perform tests and examine patients' eyes and vision, evaluating each component Analyze and listen to patients' descriptions of symptoms to diagnose eye disorders, diseases, or injuries Examine patients for symptoms indicative of organic or congenital ocular disorders and determine the nature and extent of the disorder or injury Conduct various tests to determine vision loss Prescribe and administer medications and perform procedures, as indicated Direct remedial activities to aid in regaining vision or utilizing remaining sight, including writing prescriptions for corrective glasses and instructing patients in eye exercises Inform patients about diagnoses and treatment options to ensure understanding and informed decision-making Complete accurate documentation of ocular and vision diagnoses and treatments according to QI Standards and standards of care Additional Information Wisconsin optometry license required Board certification in Optometry required IHS/FQHC experience preferred Minimum of 3 years experience preferred Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
