Registered Nurse (Perinatal / L&D) Location: [Facility Name or City, State] Bill Rate: $87/hr Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Schedule: Full Time | May float to Postpartum Position Summary: The competent Registered Nurse practices independently within a perinatal or similar clinical setting, demonstrating sound judgment and awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This nurse provides both routine and complex care, focusing on patient outcomes and long-term goals while effectively managing changing clinical situations. The RN appropriately delegates and assigns tasks to other care providers to ensure safe and efficient delivery of care. Key Responsibilities: Meets the expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Provides professional nursing care consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, utilizing the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Administers medications and treatments according to protocols; monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness. Documents all aspects of patient care, including history, symptoms, interventions, and outcomes. Identifies learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers. Requirements: Education / Skills: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred Perinatal RN Residency or recent experience in a perinatal setting preferred Certifications / Licensure: Active RN License in state of employment or Compact License BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required Fetal Monitoring Certification required (one of the following): AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced FHM AWHONN FHM Instructor or Instructor Trainer NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) Onboarding & Competencies: New hires must attend New Nurse Orientation within 30 days of hire. Will be precepted by trained staff; competency validation required for organizational and perinatal standards. Annual competency verification required.
