American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN with current IL licensure, ACLS/BLS certifications, and strong interventional cardiac experience for a Level I trauma setting.
Responsibilities- Position is in a five-room Cardiac Cath Lab within an acute care hospital
- Patient population includes adults requiring interventional cardiac procedures with an average daily census of 25
- Day shift schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm
- Weekend work required 2-3 times per contract
- On-call coverage is required as needed
- Candidates may float within their scope to meet facility needs
- Cerner is the charting system used, and prior experience is required
- Scrubs are provided by the hospital
- Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage procedural sedation during cases
- Work within a Level I trauma center and Magnet-recognized facility
- A parking permit will be provided at no cost, to be arranged during orientation
- Requests for time off should ideally not exceed five days for the contract
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Active IL RN license in hand required at time of application
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Cath Lab RN experience required
- Current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Interventional cardiac cath lab experience required, including procedures such as circulating, diagnostic catheterizations, left/right heart catheterizations, and Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
- Skills in procedural sedation administration/monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias required
- Experience with Cerner charting system required
